Protecting marine areas is a key effort in ocean conservation. The areas we protect are designated Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) due to their ecological importance to maintaining marine ecosystems. They work with local communities to patrol the marine areas, checking for illegal sewage dumping which helps keeping the water clean, establish sustainable fishing practices and management programs when necessary, and organizing boat patrols to ensure the perimeter of the MPAs are not violated.
